Biochemical and biophysical mechanisms of a radiation defeat of natural populations of mice

  • 1. Institut Biologii Komi nauchnyj tsentr Ural'skogo Otdeleniya RAN, Syktyvkar (Russian Federation)

Description

Based on the long-term experience of studying small mammals inhabiting biogeocenoses with increased level of natural radioactivity, a complex research has been conducted. Systems of cell regulation were studied, as well as interrelation between indices of different processes of peroxide oxidation of lipids and dehydration in tissues of mice caught in 1987-1993 in 30-km zone of the Chernobyl accident, and on sites with increased γ-background in the Komi Republic in 1981-1999.
