The electron-beam technology assessment as an alternate method for flue gases desulfurization at Marits Iztok - 2 TPP
Description
Two installations for flue gases desulfurization are in operation at the Maritsa Iztok TPP - the first uses the conventional wet lime-limestone method and the second - electron-beam technology. The advantages and disadvantaged of the two methods are described and a comparison between them is made. The results from the operation of the electron-beam technology are presented. Some economical aspects of the operation are also discussed. It is observed that the economic benefit from the electron - beam technology is higher for coal with higher sulfur content. The method is suitable for combined cleaning from Sulfur and Nitrogen oxides
