BRST invariance and the Ward identities in the field theory of open Bose string
Description
The Witten's field theory for an open Bose string is discussed. The gauge fixed action is written in terms of a string multiplet which contains only gauge and ghost fields. The BRST transformation of the string multiplet is obatined and its nilpotency on-shell is proved. The invariance of the action with respect to these transformations is proved and the Ward identities are obtained. 22 refs
