Description

The importance of surfaces and low temperature in tritium labeling is emphasized. The reactive surface can stabilize the substrate by adsorption and can enhance its labeling by adsorbing tritium which then reacts as an electrophile. Studies at temperatures near absolute zero reveals tunneling as an important mechanism in tritium labeling. (author). 10 refs.; 1 fig
