Safety-criticality in nuclear plants

Description
Two aspects of criticality-safety are treated, for plants, other than reactors, where fissile materials are handled: control methods and theoretical means. The different possible control methods, ensuring equipment sub-criticality are described with their advantages and disadvantages. The principal calculation methods are summarized; a detailed account is done about the Monte-Carlo ''Moret'' code; a semi empirical and original method is proposed, which allows the evaluation of the critical masses of high enriched uranium mixtures

On traite deux aspects de la surete-criticite dans les installations, autres que les reacteurs, ou sont mises en oeuvre des matieres fissiles: les modes de controle et les moyens theoriques. Les divers modes de controle possibles, assurant la sous-criticite d'un appareillage, sont decrits avec leurs avantages et leurs inconvenients. Les principales methodes de calcul employees sont resumees; un expose detaille sur le code Monte Carlo ''Moret'' est fait et une methode originale semi-empirique permettant d'evaluer les masses critiques de melanges d'uranium tres enrichi est proposeeAdditional details
