Description
Rechargeable neutron source based on the (α,n) reaction of Po-Be has been fabricated by irradiating a homogeneous mixture of equal weights of Bi2O3 and BeO in the form of cylindrical pellet of ∼ 1 cc volume and neutron yield of ∼ 4000 n/sec. Efforts are in progress to enhance the neutron yield by optimizing the pellet composition, weight and the inpile irradiation time. (author)
