Description

This paper presents the application of the hydrophobic catalysts in the hydrogen recombination process and particularly in the case of the stoichiometric hydrogen-oxygen mixture burning. The hydrogen burning is of major importance for the nuclear power field in the processes like: deuterium recovering in the gas system of CANDU type reactors, hydrogen release from nuclear fuel stocking containers, purification of hydrogen and oxygen from electrolysis cells, oxygen removing from the cooling water circuit in the heat exchangers with the aim of corrosion reduction. Six types of mixed packings were tested as catalysts in the recombining system and their performances were determined
