Solid state diffusion: Al2O3 - Cr2O3 system
Description
The diffusion process of chromium in an alumina matrix is studied between 120000 and 16000C. The diffusion coefficient is measured using X-ray fluorescence energy dispersion in a pre-sinterized body containing the pair α-Al2O3 and α-Cr2O3. In the studied temperature range, the diffusion coefficient is given by the equation: D = 1.7 x 10-4 exp (-(41500 +- 4150/RT)); the equation corresponds to a diffusion phenomenon in the grain boundary. Estuda-se o processo de difusao do cromo numa matriz de alumina entre 12000 e 16000C. O coeficiente de difusao e medido pela energia de dispersao de um corpo pre-sinterizado contendo o par α-Al2O3 e α- Cr2O3 usando o metodo de fluorescencia de raios-X. Nesta faixa de temperatura estudada, o coeficiente de difusao e dado pela equacao: D = 1,7 x 10-4 exp (-(41500+- 4150/RT)) que corresponde ao fenomeno de difusao por limite de grao.
