On the prediction of formation of compounds in the systems GaHal3-MHal3 and InHal3-MHaln, where Hal=Cl, Br, I

A method to predict the formation of compounds by singling out complexing region on the diagrams plotted in coordinates ''generalized momentum Mom - electronegativity X'', where Mom z/r (z - cation charge, r - its radius) for groups of the systems GaHal3 - MHaln and InHal3 - MHaln, where Hal = Cl, Br, I, has ben suggested. It is ascertained that ability to form compounds in halide systems of gallium and indium decreases in the series: GaBr3 ≥ GaCl3 > InI3 > GaI3 > InBr3 ≥ InCl3
