Nigeria's Perspectives on INIR-RR Mission

Description

Introduction: MPRR Project was initiated in 2014 as part of a National Nuclear Energy programme, which included deployment of NPPs in Nigeria; IAEA SEED (Site event external Design) review mission 13-17 November 2017; Invited the IAEA to perform INIR RR Mission Feb 5-9, 2018, the 1st Mission by the Agency; Objective to assist Nigeria in determining the status of its infrastructure to support a new RR in line with IAEA Milestones document; To identify areas requiring further action for Nigeria to reach Milestone I. Conclusion: INIR RR is a welcome development for a new RR although Nigeria is not new comer to RR having operated NIRR 1 for 15 years; Useful Suggestions & Recommendations issued by the Mission; Assisted Nigeria to move forward with MPRR project; Hope to move quickly with the Project ASAP.
