External targets for the production of 211At - review and status of the target development at the Hannover cyclotron

Description
211At is an alpha emitter which can be produced with cyclotrons capable of accelerating helium-4 ions to at least 28 MeV in case of external targets. Different targets were used and improved to increase the yield of 211At to amounts considered to be suitable for alpha therapy of tumours. (orig.)
