X-ray absorption and X-ray magnetic circular dichroism studies of a Co(0 0 1) monatomic layer at the interface with Al2O3
Description
We have studied the electronic state of a Co(0 0 1) monatomic layer facing an amorphous-Al2O3 tunneling barrier using X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) and X-ray magnetic circular dichroism (XMCD) measurements at the Co L2,3 edges. XAS and XMCD measurements evidence that the 1-ML Co facing Al2O3 layer is not oxidized
