Bcc-hydride formation in pseudoalphatitanium alloys

Description

Structure of VT-20 and PT-3V alloys in electron microscope is studied. It is stated that under friction track in the first alloy and after machine parts operation of the second alloy in the atmosphere of superheated water vapour BCC-phase is Formed in the structure in the form of finely dispersed precipitations on prismatic slip planes in α-phase. Precipitated BCC-phase differs from β-phase both by orientation and by the value of lattice prarmeter. Analysis of the above precipitation structure allows to suggest their identity with one of titanium hydride form
