Collapse of iron nucleus in models of Type 2 supernovae

Creators

  • 1. Los Alamos National Lab., NM (USA)

Description

Results of the recent one-dimensional calculations of collapse of the Type 1 population star nuclei with 10, 15 and 20 Msun are described. The model physical bases including modification of the state equation under nuclear densities and heavy nucleus binding energy, are discussed. None of model calculations have shown that nucleus collapse and subsequent recoil lead to shell removal. 11 refs.; 2 figs
