Crystal structure of KPr(SOΛ4)Λ2xHΛ2O
Description
New modification of KLn(SO4)2xH2O (Ln=La-Nd) is prepared by crystallization from aqueous solutions. Crystal structure of KPr(SO4)2xH2O is studied. Unit cell parameters are the following ones: a=.10.866(2), b.=15.361(4), c=1g.031(3) A, β=112.36(2) deg, V=1548.4(1.4) A3, F.gr. P21/c, Z=8, phosub(calcd)=3.347(3) g/cm3. The structure represents a frame built up of two kinds of Pr-polyhedrons (coodination number 9) and of four types of independent SO4-tetrahedrons. Comparison of the KPr(SO4)2xH2O structure with MLn(SO4)2xH2O structures (lLn=Gd-Ln; M=K, Pb) is carried out
