Reflection of low energy hydrogen atoms on metal surface

Description
Reflection of low energy hydrogen atoms was experimentally studied by the use of a permeation probe, concerned with plasma-facing walls in fusion devices. The amount of reflected deuterium decreased with increasing the temperature of metal surface, which was continuously exposed to a deuterium plasma. The surface density of deuterium also decreased in similar proportion. These indicated that the reflection coefficient depended on the surface density of deuterium. (author)
