Description
The appearance of the spectrum and the line profiles of the surge of September 1, 1961 are discussed. The spectrum can best be explained by assuming ordered rotational motion of the individual surge streamers with peripheral rotational velocities in the range between 100 km s-1 and 200 km s-1.
