Summary report on WWER safety conference, Prague, September 21-23, 1995
Description
The International Topical Meeting on WWER Safety organized by the European Nuclear Society, Czech Nuclear Society, Slovak Nuclear Society in cooperation with American Nuclear Society is focused on various aspects of the WWER safety. It overviews major activities, policy, and the general trend in WWER safety enhancement in Central and Eastern Europe. The meeting provided a space for dialogue between designers, researchers, nuclear power plant operators, nuclear power plant vendors, and licensing experts from various organizations. The conference was divided into the following sessions: National programmes for WWER upgrading; Safety enhancement and analyses; Components integrity and containment; Operational safety, complemented by poster sessions. 105 papers by experts from Russia, Ukraine, Slovakia, Hungary, Germany, France, Finland, USA, UK, and Czech Republic, were presented.
