Crystal structure of high-Tc superconductors and the valence of their constituent atoms

Description
Crystal structure of a high temperature superconductor and Pauling's radii are used to calculate the valence of the constituent atoms. The simple considerations lead to the conclusion that the basic as well as the supplementary oxygen atoms are equally charged negative ions with the ionization degree about -2, and that there are two kinds of Cu atoms: one is the neutral atoms and the other is positive ions with the ionization degree about 3.5
