Present status of nuclear power safety studies in JAERI, 1999
Description
Safety studies in the Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute (JAERI) is conducted along long-term programs on research, development and application on nuclear power and various annual plan on safety studies defined by national government, under closed cooperation with other research institutes, at a center of the Safety Experiment and Research Center. In 1997 and 1998 fiscal years, the safety studies were advanced as shown in the followings: practice of response to high degree of burning on reactivity accident evaluation standard by using pulse irradiation experiment data at a nuclear reactor safety researching reactor (NSRR) using high degree of burning fuel, beginning of an experiment on emitting behavior of nuclear fissionable matters at transient critical time in TRACT installed at the Nuclear Fuel Cycle Safety Engineering Research Facility (NUCEF), characteristics verification of a worldwide system on prediction of emergent environmental dose information (WSPEEDI), and so forth.
