Description
A fusion reactor for the generation of high-intensity neutrons is claimed. It comprises a reaction chamber, a source of gases at least one of which is inert and one of which is a fuel gas capable of nuclear reaction, a nozzle means connected to the source and communicating with the interior of the chamber and a means for removing exhaust gases from the chamber. A system for producing and maintaining a plasma ball is claimed. It includes a source of high-intensity electric current, a means for suddenly interrupting the current to create a high-intensity arc and a plasma ball, a transparent reaction chamber communicating with the area in which the plasma ball is formed, a means for transferring the plasma ball into the chamber and a means for feeding a continuous flow of nuclear reactive gas into the chamber to maintain the plasma ball. The method of increasing the mass of a reactive plasma ball is also claimed. It comprises feeding nuclear fuel gas to the ball and simultaneously ionizing the boundary layer of the ball
