On bound states in the quantum field theory

  • 1. Lab. of Theoretical Physics, Joint Inst. for Nuclear Research, Head Post Office, P.O. Box 79, Moscow 101000 (USSR)

Description

In this paper the authors obtain formulas which give the mass of a bound state of two scalar particles interacting with each other by means of a gauge field U(1). The π+π- atom is the typical physical example. We shall be interested in the mechanism of formation of bound states and in the estimation of contribution of nonpotential interactions because calculations of relativistic corrections are one of the main problems when describing the bound state of elementary particles. In particular the computing of these corrections can help to determine validity bounds of the potential approach. Plenty of papers are devoted to these problems
