Thermal diffuse scattering in moving single crystals

Description

The thermal diffuse-scattering contribution to Bragg peaks in moving single crystals is discussed. A simple reciprocal-lattice construction is presented in the case of neutrons scattered inelastically by moving lattices. The theoretical calculations concerning the energy distribution of thermal diffuse-scattering intensity in a rotating single crystal yield results which seem to be in good agreement with experiment. The experimental results are independent of extinction effects. (author)
