It has been studied the dosimetric characteristics of a multileaf collimator (MLC) installed on a dual energy accelerator with 6 and 18 MV photon beams in the radiotherapy department of Mauriziano Umberto I Hospital in Turin (Italy) initiating its use in clinical practice. In particular, measurements included transmission through and between the leaves and at the junction under closed-leaves, central axis percentage depth dose, output factors and effective penumbra

Abstract (Italian)

Vengono analizzate e valutate le caratteristiche dosimetriche di un collimatore multilamellare installato su un acceleratore lineare Varian Clinac 2100 C/D con fotoni di due energie (6 e 18 MV) presente nell'Unita' Operativa di Radioterapia dell'Ospedale Mauriziano Umberto I di Torino. In particolare e' stata misurata la trasmissione sotto e tra lamelle, la fuga della radiazione alla giunzione tra lamelle opposte, la percentuale relativa della dose in profondita', i fattori di campo e la penombra effettiva
