Real part of the forward nuclear amplitude for hadron-proton scattering between 70 and 200 GeV/c

Description

We have measured the elastic scattering cross section for pp, anti pp, π+p, π-p, K+p, and K-p at 70, 100, 125, 150, 175, and 200 GeV/c incident momenta. The range of the four momentum transfer squared, t, was a function of momentum and varied from 0.0016 less than or equal to -t less than or equal to 0.490 (GeV/c)2 at 200 GeV/c to 0.0018 less than or equal to -t less than or equal to 0.0625 (GeV/c)2 at 70 GeV/c. We have determined the ratio of the real to imaginary part of the nuclear amplitude and the nuclear slope in the same region. We have found that the nuclear slope is not a constant in this region. A suitable parameterization was found and the real parts are presented in terms of this parametrization
