On bondaries of high-temperature creep region of metals with fcc lattice
Description
The change in structural and mechanical characterisitcs of Al, Ni, Cu, Ag metals with face-centered cubic lattice under creep is investigated in the temperature range (0.2-0.8) Tsub(melt.). It is shown that the low limit of the high-temperature region of the creep is determined by the stacking fault energy γ of the investigated metals. With a decrease of γ the low limit of the high-temperature region of the creep shifts to higher temperatures. The effect observed is discussed from the standpoint of the extended dislocation climb mechanism on the model which needs no preliminary local recombination of partial dislocations
