New analysis of Λ89Y spectrum to extract Λ spin-orbit splittings in heavy hypernuclei
Description
By taking the 88Y core excitation into account, detailed structure calculation of Λ89Y has been performed. The wave functions are used to analyse the observed 89Y(π+, K+)Λ89Y spectrum within the framework of DWIA. It is clarified for the first time that the double-like substructure in each major peak should not be attributed to the Λ spin-orbit splitting but is due to the effect of nuclear core excitation. The small spin-orbit splitting obtained in this analysis is consistent with the two data in light hypernuclei ( Λ9Be and Λ13C). (author)
