Tensor polarizabilities of the levels 4f146s6p 3P1 in Yb and (4f66s6p + 4f55d6s2) 7D1, 7F1, 7G1 in Sm were deduced for the even isotopes from the modulation freqency of quantum beat signals. (orig.)
