Study on the π-p→νn reaction at momenta up to 40 GeV/c

Description
Cross sections of the π-p→νn reaction are measured at momenta of 15 and 40 GeV/c. About 30 thousand events are registered. A hodoscope spectrometer on-line with a computer is used to detect the γ pairs from the decays of the ν mesons. The differential cross section decreases exponentially with rise of t, the 4-momentum transfer squared, and at -t>2 (Gy./c)2 it is less than 1 nb/GeV/c)2. The A2 trajectory is determined, and in the range 0<-t<=1.2 (GeV/c)2 it has a linear form αsub(A2)(t)=0.45+0.7 t
