On mechanism of thermostimulated current appearence in irradiated polymers

Description
A method of thermally generated current has been used to study the mechanism of the current initiation in the irradiated films of polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene, teflon, polysterene and polymethylmethacrylate when heated in the presence of temperature gradient (ΔT). Irradiation has been effected at minus 170 deg C in the helium atmosphere on the of γ-radiation Co60 source up to the dose of 0.6 to 1.0 Mrad. A symmetrical radiation-induced space charge is shown to be responsible for the current initiation in the given polymers
