Mossbauer studies of Nd-Fe-B alloys

  • 1. Beijing Univ. of Iron and Steel Technology

Description

Others have reported that the neodymium-iron-boron ternary compound which is composed of Nd/sub 15/Fe/sub 77/B/sub 8/ possesses remarkable magnetic properties. Since then the new permanent magnet material has been extensively studied. The material consists of mainly two phases, Nd/sub 2/Fe/sub 14/B phase and Nd-rich phase. The Laue X-ray photographs and neutron diffraction studies show that the structure of Nd/sub 2/Fe/sub 14/B is tetragonal symmetric, the space group of which is P4/sub 2//mnm. In this paper the authors report on the Mossbauer studies for Nd/sub 15/Fe/sub 85-x/B/sub x/(x=0-8) alloys
