Quality Circles and nuclear energy
Description
A Circle of Quality is a small group of workers or employees made up of from five to ten volunteers from a given shop, office, or factory team, or sharing identical concerns. For every problem that is taken under advisement, these groups draft a solution, test its validity and propose its application, eventually monitoring its implementation and assessing the results achieved. The problems dealt with and the improvements introduced frequently concern details of the personnel's work routines, product quality, tool reliability. But these improvements become so numerous that, eventually, it is the efficiency of an entire office, shop, department or plant, and hence that of the company itself, that is enhanced thereby. Un Cercle de qualite est un petit groupe d'ouvriers, d'employes, compose de cinq a dix volontaires appartenant au meme atelier, au meme bureau, a la meme equipe de travail, ou ayant les memes preoccupations. Les problemes traites et les ameliorations apportees concernent souvent des details de la vie professionnelle courante du personnel, de la qualite des produits, de la fiabilite des outillages... mais ces ameliorations deviennent tellement nombreuses que c'est l'efficacite de l'ensemble du bureau, de l'atelier, du service ou de l'usine, et donc de l'entreprise, qui s'en trouve amelioree.
