Simulations of burn dynamics in tokamak fusion reactors
Description
The global dynamics of tokamak reactors is investigated with the time-dependent, volume-averaged (0D) particle and power balance code FRESCO (Fusion REactor Simulation COde). The main emphasis is on studies of reactivity transients during tokamak start-up and shut down, as well as after sudden changes in plasma and tokamak parameters. In particular, the plasma responses to changes in the confinement, fuelling rates and impurity concentrations are considered
