Hydrocarbons and environment: the I.F.P. strategy

The French Petroleum Institute (I.F.P.) sets out its strategy. To reduce the environmental impacts and to develop the technologies in order to minimize the releases in atmosphere. The fight against greenhouse gases and efforts of research must go on (support to fuel cells development and contribution to renewable energies development, in particular the biomass). The most urgent challenge is linked to the climatic change: several direction are favoured: to increase the energy yield, to increase the part of renewable energy and nuclear energy, finally, to trap the carbon dioxide in reservoirs.
