Description
Methods of differential thermal, X-ray phase, microstructural analyses as well as measurements of microhardness were applied to investigate the Yb-Bi-Te ternary system by YbTe-Bi2Te3, Yb4Bi3-Bi2Te3, YbBi2-Bi2Te3 cross sections, and their phase diagrams are plotted. Formation of YbBi2Te4 and YbBi4Te7 ternary compounds crystallized in the cubic crystal system of Th3P4 type is stated
