Description
The status of the program in progress at the Department of Health Protection (DPS) on some of the problems raised by the exposure of the human body to mixed radiations (neutrons, gamma-rays) is presented. The dosimetric studies, mainly carried out in collaboration with other services within the frame of the Task Group CRAC of the Directorate for Radiological Protection and Safety (DPSR), have dealt with the evaluation of doses within the body, sodium activation in the human body, and sulphur activation in the hair and nails and clothes. Radiobiological studies have been carried out on the formation of dicentric chromosomes in lymphocytes following 'in vitro' exposure of human blood, the hematological evolution, LD 50 (30 days), weight loss and pathology of delayed mortality in the rat, the excretion of urinary amino-acids and electrolytes in the rat. Abstract (French)
