Interaction of the ions of tri- and tetravalent uranium with its dioxide in the molten alkaline metal chlorides
Description
Interaction of uranium dioxide and its tetra- and trichlorides in molten salt mixture of sodium and potassium chlorides at 1200 K in inert gas atmosphere by voltametric method and by recording potential-time dependences is studied. It is shown that uranium oxy-ion soluble forms appear in the solution due to interaction, electroreduction of which results in release of uranium oxide individual phases on the cathode, wherium oxygen-uranium ratio is less than two
