Protons and neutrons versus X or gamma rays external radiotherapy: alternative options
- 1. Clermont-Ferrand-2 Univ., 63 - Aubiere (France). Lab. de Physique Corpusculaire
Description
Two examples are shown which can be treated both by protons or neutrons but also by photons. Both have an equal chance of success but certainly slightly different therapeutic indications. One is uveal melanoma, a tumor developed from choroid and ciliary body; the other is prostate adenocarcinoma, the second most common malignancy in males in most industrialized countries. (R.P.)
