Description
The discussion following the session on the radiolysis of iodine species included comments on the importance of studying impurities in sump water following a reactor accident and how they might affect iodine chemistry; the formation of organic iodides, the presence of H2O2 in sump water, and measurements of iodine partition. The understanding of the radiolysis of iodine solutions is important in the design of BWRs. (U.K.)
