Description
The influence of the dipolar and quadrupolar scattering due to the 4f electrons on the temperature dependence of the electrical resistivity in PrNi5 is investigated. Using the experimental values of polycrystalline PrNi5 and the isostructural LaNi5 as well as the crystalline electric field splitting scheme it is found that the quadrupole scattering is the dominating one.
