Substantiation of the setting of the Engineering Safety Features Actuation System protective signals
Description
The authorities require that a substantiation of the setting of the protective signals be submitted within the Dukovany NPP licence renewal procedure. The substantiation document should demonstrate that no safety limit would be surpassed due to any initiating event. The Engineering Safety Features Actuation System (ESFAS) signals should be substantiated on the basis of acceptability criteria which are to be satisfied for the individual events. An overview of all ESFAS signals is given together with a list of initiating events during which such signals emerge. For each event it is shown how the acceptability criteria are satisfied. (author)
