TR4Ge3O9(OH, F)6 - a new structural type in the series of rare earth germanates

Description
Series of new TR germanates - TR4Ge3O9 (OH, F)6 (TR>Er-Lu) obtained in KF(Cs, F)-TR2O3-GeO2-H20) systems in regions with 15-50% concentration of KF and 50% of CsF for TR2O3:GeO2--1:1 ratio has been synthesized and studied. The hydrothermal synthesis of monocrystals is realized in closed copper ampules at 450 deg C and approximately 1000 atm. On the basis of X-ray diffraction analysis crystals grown under similar conditions with other rare earth elements (Er, Tn and Lu) rhombic cell parameters of Yb - germanate are related to Yb-germanate structural type
