Coherent pair production in linear colliders

Description
The production of an electron-positron pair by a photon impinging on a high-density bunch of electrons is calculated in the deep quantum regime, typically found in linear colliders in the multi-TeV range. We obtain separately a leading contribution proportional to the bunch length and logarithmic edge effects. Pair production is found to be considerable. (orig.)
