Influence of SrF2 and ZrO2 additives on kinetics of SrTiO3 sintering

Description

Additions of ZrO2 to SrTiO3 activate the purely diffusion solid-phase processes in sintering, intensify the latter and lower the sintering point. Additions of SrF2 produce a molten phase and sharply raise the sintering rate at considerably lower temperatures, but cause a rather high residual porosity in specimens. Additions of SrF2 to activate the sintering of SrTiO3 may prove to be advantageous when a relatively high final porosity (10-12 %) is not objectionable and substantially lower both temperature and duration of sintering are required
