Start-up of the reversed-field pinch in an adiabatic manner
Description
The equations describing the purely adiabatic formation of the reversed-field pinch are solved. This method of formation, in principle, remedies the problem of flux consumption during the start-up phase of this device. Also discussed is the effect of resistivity on this ideal model. (author)
