Description
This paper is devoted to the investigation of the interaction between a silica hydrogel species derived from a serpentine-group mineral (Mg(Fe))6[Si4O10](OH)8 and calcium hydroxide Ca(OH)2 in aqueous medium in air at ambient pressure depending on stirring time and Ca(OH)2 concentration. The aim of the research was to study the influence of stirring time and Ca(OH)2 concentration on the yield and crystallinity of calcium silicate species, particularly, β-wollastonite produced by thermal crystallization of amorphous calcium hydro- and hydroxosilicates, which had been previously precipitated in the boiling aqueous suspension prepared from the mentioned reagents
