Deentrainment and reentrainment of droplets in air-water mixture flow through a rod array and a perforated plate
Description
The discharge of two-phase flow from reflooded rod bundles in a pressurized water reactor into the upper plenum might produce liquid phase separation. The analysis and experimental results are presented for deentrainment and reentrainment of water in air-water, two-phase flow mixtures in geometries of vertical rod arrays and horizontal core plates. The results indicate that the gas inertia is the main parameter to be considered in the behavior of separation and entrainment
