Two-dimensional equilibrium configuration of relativistic electron beam propagating in a gas
Description
Heavy-current beam transport through the neutral gas in experimentally and theoretically investigated. Experiments are conducted at the 'Neptun' device. 20kA current electron beam is injected trough titanium foil to a drift chamber filled with N2,He under 1-10 torr pressure. It is shown that in the given experiment the production of two-dimensional equilibrium configuration, existing at ∼ 100ns times and at the length of several meters, is possible
