Contribution of Lithuanian Science to Nuclear Safety Upgrading
Description
VATESI in its activities is very much supported by Lithuanian nuclear energy Technical Support Organizations (TSO). Description of these organizations and areas of co-operation are presented. The activities of TSO were related with reviewing Safety Analysis Report of Ignalina NPP Unit 2, implementation of the Safety implementation program SIP-2, preparations for decommissioning Ignalina NPP and other. In 2004 main areas of co-operation were analysis and safety justification of the Ignalina NPP, expert services provided for VATESI, development of new regulations and review of the current safety regulations and standards, participation in various international projects
