Spectral and photometric observations of Y Ori

Description

The results of spectral and photometric study of the long-period variable star Y Ori are reported. Being close to the brightness minimum, it is classified as a cool M7IIIe giant. In the blue part of spectrum some typical to early spectral type star features are overlapped with a characteristics of a cool giant, thus leading to a variable excess of radiation in the range of 4000-4200 A . In contrast with a usual monotonically decreasing intensity of the Balmer lines (EWHα > EWHβ > EWHγ > EWHδ) in early type normal stars, a reversal behavior (EWHγ < EWHδ) in Y Ori spectra is registered
